Their deserved goal did come on the 10th minute of the match, when they finally took one of their chances to take the lead. It took until the 78th minute to break the deadlock, and it came in dramatic fashion, with the linesman initially raising his flag for offside on the Burscough forward, however play continued and a magnificent volley from 40 yards found its way into the net to give the visitors the lead, despite the protests of the home side.
The lead didn’t last long, as a Broadheath corner almost straight after the restart was nodded home to level the game. Broadheath regained their lead on 87 minutes, after piling on the pressure and numerous chances.
